DC. for Eliot

(June recap #2)

Only a very close friend (or slightly nutty one?!) flies you across the country (SLC to Washington DC) and invites you and your 3.5 month old in to their home (to sleep! and eat!) just 48 hours after giving birth to their number two.

She called it a “huge favor” for coming so far to photograph her sweet new Eliot. I called it an adventure- It was a calm, peaceful, slow paced get-away from the fast lane of summer 2011. After our move, a family wedding, and a four week stay in Salt Lake, it was refreshing. Celebrating and photographing little Eliot was one of the highlights of my summer thus far. And Ruby’s too! She just added Eliot onto her (growing list) of boy crushes.

There is nothing like the peacefulness of a home in the days prior to bringing home a new babe. And I got to soak it up not just once this year, but twice. Yum. Not to mention, dear Eliot was at my disposal for two full days… just me, Eliot, and my big black box. Heaven for me. I was in my element.  And heaven for Miranda, who got to sleep the whole time I was at it!:)
