I opened my front door to a package that said “Mike’s Pastry” and gasped. What?! Could it be THE Mike’s Pastry?!
Yes it was. And it had traveled across the country, all the way from Boston, MA.
Mike’s Pastry is near and dear to our hearts around here. It was one of our favorite places to go when we lived in Boston. They make THE BEST canoli’s, whoopie pies and black and white cookies that you could ever imagine. Not to mention this place is full of character and charm, centered right in the middle of Boston’s North End Italian district. It was always the perfect ending to a North End date night.
Patrick and Patricia Barnes were behind the delivery… I had a feeling it was them right from the start- they’re that kind of friends. We lived in Boston with the Barnes and we all shared a love for this place.
Three cheers for one AWESOME surprise- we’ve been eating canoli’s for three days!
THANK YOU BARNES! WE LOVE YOU!
As pictured above, the canoli filling was packed in dry-ice and we got to fill the shells ourself. It was quite fun… don’t they look fabulous?!
